Welcome to our Internet home. The National Air Traffic Controllers Association, or NATCA for short, represents over 20,000 air traffic controllers, engineers, and other safety related professionals. We are a federal sector labor union, a direct affiliate of the American Federation of Labor - Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). Our membership is found in every state, territory and possession in the United States.

NATCA is very proud to represent not only the interests of our membership, but the safety interests of the flying public, as well. Our motto, Safety Above All, is the litmus test against which all our decisions are based. We continually strive to improve and enhance aviation safety, and we proudly provide the safest air traffic control system in the world. Our members are dedicated public servants who work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to make sure you get to your destination safely.

But, this website is about more than that.  It's about issues that affect safety and the jobs we do. Inadequate staffing is affecting controllers at facilities across the country.  The FAA has put crucial modernization projects on the backburner to support its new philosophy of controlling costs before maximizing safety. These issues should concern anyone who uses this country's national airspace system, and this site is where you can find the latest news and information on these important topics.
